Save Our Marine Life

The Anti-Nuclear Alliance of WA has campaigned since 1997 against the nuclearisation of Australia in all its aspects: uranium mining, the new Œresearch‚ reactor in Sydney, irradiation of food, the hosting of an international N-waste dump and the use of depleted uranium in weapons.

Through our stalls, website, public meetings, and media liaison, we counter the misleading mantra of the nuclear industry that it is the answer to the greenhouse problem. If nuclear energy is assessed for greenhouse gas emissions over the whole cycle - mining, milling, construction, reprocessing of fuel, decommissioning of reactors, transport and storage of waste (rather than just the production of electricity) ˆ the sums look very different. Not only does N-power leave deadly waste for future generations but the net greenhouse emissions are right up there!
